Frankie's Organic is recalling 94 cases of its Plant-Based Vegan Cheddar Puffs because they may contain undeclared milk. Anyone with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity who eats the product risks a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction, the company says.

The recalled item is the 4 oz (113 g) bag with a “Best If Used By” date of May 16, 2027, UPC 816929000089, and lot code 05 16 2027. It was sold at PCC Community Markets in Washington State, at Earth Fare stores in Florida and South Carolina, and at select independent retailers in those regions.

## Check the UPC and Any Listed Date Code

The company's notice, dated August 11, names one date code for the 113 g bag: 05 16 2027. A food recall warning from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, [published August 8](https://recalls-rappels.canada.ca/en/alert-recall/pc-organics-brand-and-frankie-s-organic-brand-plant-based-cheddar-corn-puffs-and), lists two codes against the same UPC, 816929000089: 2027 MA 16 and 2027 JL 03. [PCC Community Markets posted its own notice on August 10](https://www.pccmarkets.com/recalls/). Check the UPC on the bag against the codes listed by either source rather than rely on one alone.

Frankie's Organic says it is working with three distribution centers to remove remaining inventory, and that no other Frankie's Organic products are affected. The company traces the cause to a seasoning ingredient from a supplier that contains milk.

## Canada's Warning Names Four More Products

The CFIA warning, identification number RA-82463, is classified Class 1 and covers national and online distribution. Alongside the Frankie's Organic puffs it lists four PC Organics items from the same recalling firm, Aliments Biologiques Frankie Inc.:

PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn puffs, 142 g, UPC 060383020767, codes 2027 FE 15, 2027 FE 16 and 2027 AL 03.

PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn puffs, 336 g, UPC 060383020774, codes 2027 FE 16 and 2027 AL 03.

PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar Jalapeno baked corn puffs, 142 g, UPC 060383020798, code 2027 FE 16.

PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn crunchies, 142 g, UPC 060383096168, codes 2027 FE 15 and 2027 MR 26.

The CFIA says the recall was triggered by the company and that there have been reported reactions associated with eating the products, without giving a number. Frankie's Organic says its own recall followed two complaints of allergic reactions to related products sold in Canada. The agency says it is verifying that recalled items are being pulled from stores, and that its food safety investigation may lead to further recalls.

## Return It or Throw It Away

Frankie's Organic says shoppers should check their pantry, stop eating the product if they have it, and either throw it away or return it to the store where they bought it for a full refund. The Canadian warning gives the same advice and adds that recalled products should not be served, used, sold or distributed. Questions can go to the company's consumer line, 1-800-363-8209, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern.
